Welcome, Parents and Students to

the Title I department at Saint Clair Area School District!

Title I is a federal program which supports elementary and secondary education.

Through Title I, the federal government disburses money to schools making it possible for them to provide strong academic support services.  Each district uses its Title I money improve regular education programs offered to help students meet state standards.  Saint Clair Elementary/Middle School received $239,842 in regular funds for the 2021-2022 school year.  Title I services are available to all students in grades K-8 and help ensure that students residing here in our district attending non-public schools receive support services, as well.  This year our school also received $32,409 in Title II funds, which we use to help reduce class-size.  Title IV funds can be used in a variety of ways to help provide a well-rounded education for our students, improve the safety and health of our students, as well as, use technology effectively in our school.  We received $12,087 in Title IV funds this year.

Title I is based on three important concepts:

1. All students should have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and to reach, at minimum, proficiency on state academic standards and assessments.

2. Local districts, schools, and parents know best what their students need to meet with success. The Title I program allows them to decide how to use these funds to implement research-based proven practices to help students who are struggling.

3. Parents have the right to be involved in the design and operation of their school's Title I program, and a responsibility to help their children succeed in school.
