   Mission Statement / Program Goals:

The mission of the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program in the Saint Clair Area School District (SCASD) is to provide support and intensive instruction in English and American culture to Non- and Limited English Proficient (NEP / LEP) students which will enable them to become successful in the mainstream classroom, the school environment, and the community.

Our goals are focused on helping children and their families keep their culture and language, while at the same time, learning English and American culture.  We believe English Language Learners (ELLs) have great potential and hold them to the same high standards as native English speakers.  Opportunities will be open to them in college and the career fields of their choice.
